About
Modernization is a business decision.
Not a technology purchase.
Firefly Business Systems was built around a simple belief: the best system is the one that makes the business perform better.
That means looking beyond software — at organizational structure, labor and capacity, operating cadence, workflow, customer experience, revenue, profit and loss economics, management information, technology, and data — before deciding what should change.
The perspective behind the firm comes from more than two decades across Fortune 500 environments, financial services, real estate, retail operations, hospitality, and high-growth SaaS — combined with modern business systems, digital strategy, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging agentic technology.
What We Believe
Five convictions.
- 01
Business before technology
We begin with how the company makes money, uses people and capacity, delivers work, serves customers, and makes decisions. The tool comes later.
- 02
Performance before complexity
Modernization should improve revenue, margin, productivity, capacity, visibility, customer experience, or scalability. Complexity that cannot justify itself does not belong.
- 03
Use what already works
A business may already own the capability it needs. Better configuration, clearer ownership, a simpler process, or a stronger management rhythm can be more valuable than another platform.
- 04
Intelligence where it earns its place
artificial intelligence, automation, and agentic systems can create meaningful leverage. We use them when the business case supports them — not because they are fashionable.
- 05
Clarity is a management advantage
Leadership should be able to see what is happening, understand the economics, know who owns the next action, and decide with confidence.

Who owns the result? Is labor aligned to demand? Where is capacity being lost? What does the profit and loss say? Which process is creating friction?
Can leadership trust the information in front of them? Is technology supporting the work — or simply adding another layer of complexity?
That experience shaped a practical operating perspective: industries change the context, but not the fundamentals of a well-run business. Performance depends on clear accountability, productive labor, disciplined process, reliable information, sound economics, a customer experience the operation can consistently deliver, and technology that earns its place.
Business performance is rarely one department, one process, or one piece of software.
That operating perspective was developed in environments where business cadence and financial discipline mattered every day — reviewing performance, staffing against demand, managing budgets and forecasts, analyzing sales and labor, improving productivity and margin, establishing accountability, and adjusting the system when results moved off plan.
Hospitality added another discipline: customer experience is not a slogan or a department. Training in Ritz-Carlton customer-service principles reinforced the importance of standards, anticipation, consistency, service recovery, and the operational details behind how a customer experiences the business.
Across those environments, Erik’s work has spanned commercial strategy, sales leadership, customer experience, operating models, staffing and compensation, customer relationship management and pipeline architecture, digital strategy, business intelligence, revenue operations, and technology-enabled process improvement.
The common thread is the ability to translate business objectives into operating systems people can actually use — connecting strategy to accountability, process, information, economics, and the technology required to produce measurable results.
An Operator’s View
Five lenses on one business.
The same five lenses used to run operating units are the lenses Firefly Business Systems applies to a client’s business.
People
Organizational structure, leadership, staffing, compensation, accountability, labor utilization, and the capacity of the team to deliver.
Process
Operating cadence, workflows, handoffs, sales and service delivery, standards, decision rights, and what happens when performance moves off plan.
Technology
Enterprise systems, customer relationship management, SaaS, digital platforms, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging agentic capabilities — selected only when they improve the business.
Data
Sales and labor analysis, forecasting, reporting, pipeline intelligence, conversion performance, and the management information required to make better decisions.
Economics
profit and loss responsibility, budgeting, labor economics, revenue productivity, compensation models, margin, capacity, and the financial consequences of operating decisions.
Why Firefly Business Systems Exists
Experience built the perspective. Business performance defines the work at Firefly Business Systems.
Firefly Business Systems starts with the business itself — people, process, technology, data, and economics — because the visible problem is often only a symptom. A company may need a better operating cadence, clearer accountability, different labor allocation, stronger management information, a redesigned workflow, better use of technology it already owns, or a new capability entirely.
customer relationship management, digital systems, business intelligence, automation, artificial intelligence, and agentic systems are all available when they create justified leverage. None of them is the starting assumption.
Understand how the business actually works. Find what is constraining performance. Modernize what matters. Keep what works.
Modernize what matters.
Keep what works.
Firefly Business Systems is deliberately technology-agnostic. We can redesign a process, clarify ownership, improve management visibility, configure an existing system, connect platforms, modernize digital experiences, automate work, or deploy artificial intelligence and agentic capabilities. The recommendation follows the business case.
Business First
Understand the business problem and economics before choosing the intervention.
Use What Works
Configure and connect existing systems before adding unnecessary technology.
Simplify Where Possible
Better structure, clearer ownership, or a simpler process may outperform another tool.
Measure What Matters
Modernization should improve visible business outcomes — not merely produce more activity.
Let’s understand what is holding the business back.
Then modernize what matters.
Start with a conversation about performance, friction, capacity, visibility, customer experience, and growth — whether the eventual answer is operational, organizational, digital, technological, or some combination of them.
